Start a Messaging Session with a Customer
If you need to send customers messages for notifications, marketing campaigns, or other purposes, you can proactively start a messaging session via SMS messaging channel.
Requirements
Contact the system administrator to make sure that PBX server meets the following requirements:
- Version: 84.12.0.57 or later.
- Plan: Enterprise Plan or Ultimate Plan
- Messaging: At least one messaging channel is set up on PBX.
IZT Cloud Voice Mobile Client
Make sure that the version of your IZT Cloud Voice Mobile Client meets the following requirements:
- IZT Cloud Voice iOS Client: Version 5.2.9 or later
- IZT Cloud Voice Android Client: Version 4.13.16 or later
Start a Messaging Session
- On IZT Cloud Voice Mobile Client, go to Chat > External Chat.
- At the top-right corner, tap
- In the drop-down menu, select Create SMS Session.
- Tap the Sender field, then select the channel number for sending messages.
- In the Recipient field, enter the recipient's phone number in E.164 format (
[+][country code][phone number]
). For example,+18003275906
. - At the top-right corner, tap Create.
The messaging session will appear in the external chat list after you send a message.
Note: You can only proactively start a messaging session via SMS messaging channel.
