Restrict Extension Registration Based on IP Address

This topic describes how to allow devices with a specific IP address or in a specific IP section to register extensions on the IZT Cloud.

Background Information

By default, the IZT Cloud allows SIP registrations without limiting IP addresses.

In case hackers attempt to register extensions remotely and make expensive phone calls, you can restrict registration so that only devices with a specific IP address or in a specific IP section can register extensions.

Procedure

Follow these steps to set up IP restrictions:
1

Log in to the IZT Cloud PBX web portal, go to Extension and Trunk > Extension, and edit the desired extension.

2

Click the Security tab.

3

In the SIP Registration IP Restriction section, select the checkbox for Enable IP Restriction.

4
Configure the allowed IP addresses:
Click Add IP
In the Permitted IP and Subnet Mask fields, set the allowed IP address or IP section.
5

Click Save and Apply.

Result

Access Restriction Applied

Only devices with the specified IP address or in the designated IP section can register the extension.

πŸ’‘ Tip: Make sure to keep a record of your allowed IP addresses and subnet masks for future reference.
