πŸ“ž Monitor a Parking Number on an IP Phone

This topic describes how to set up a function key on an IP phone to monitor a parking number.

Background Information

For users who use directed call parking and want to monitor a specific parking number, you can set a function key for each key by auto provisioning. Users can also set function keys on their own IP phones.

Procedure

  1. Assign function keys for extension users to monitor parking numbers.

1.1 Log in to PBX web portal, go to Extension and Trunk > Extension, edit the desired extension.

1.2 Click the Function Keys tab.

1.3 Configure the function keys:

  • The number of programmable keys varies by phone models. If the number of function keys you assign to an extension exceeds the number of programmable keys, the redundant function keys won't appear.
  • Type: Select BLF.
  • Value: Enter a valid parking extension number (e.g., *41001), which will be displayed on the phone screen.
  1. Click Save and Apply.

  2. If the extension has been associated with a phone, use Auto Provision IP Phones to bind it with the extension.

3.1 If the extension number receives an incoming call, the assigned BLF key flashes.

3.2 The LED status may vary by phone. Check the manufacturer documentation for specifics.

Result

  • The BLF key shows the real-time status of the parking number.
  • The assigned BLF key flashes when there are incoming calls to the monitored parking number.
  • The key LED status indicates the parked call from the monitored parking number.

Ensure the monitoring configuration validates and allows operations reflecting accurate handling.
