➑️ Forward Calls to Voicemail

Never miss a lead by allowing your customers to leave voicemail messages. This topic describes how to forward various kinds of calls to voicemail.

Background Information

A growing business cannot afford to miss incoming calls. A missed call may make your customers impatient, leaving implicit messages harmful to your business. Forwarding calls to voicemail automatically helps you stay connected with customers and partners.

You can configure voicemail options for groups, individual users, and inbound routes, which help the system to forward calls to voicemail:

  • Forward extension users' calls to voicemail: The extension users get a voicemail after the preset.
  • Set failover destination for voicemail for a ring group or queue: When no member or agents are available in a queue or calls for a group ring, the call automatically redirects to voicemail.

Forward Extension Users' Calls to Voicemail

You can set call forwarding rules for each extension user. If an extension user is unavailable, the system will forward extension users' calls to voicemail automatically.

  1. Log in to PBX web portal, go to Extension and Trunk > Extension, edit the desired extension.
  2. Under the Forwarding tab, configure the forwarding rule:
  • Select Unconditional Forward, Forward when Busy, or Forward on No Answer.
  • Set to Forward to Voicemail, and fill in the required settings and criteria in the fields.
  1. Click Save and Apply.

Set Failover Destination to Voicemail for a Ring Group or Queue

  1. Log in to PBX web portal, go to Call Features > Ring Group, edit the desired ring group.
  2. In the Forward Destination drop-down, select Voicemail box.
  • In the Failover Destination drop-down, select Voicemail box, and configure settings.
  1. Under the Extension Voicemail menu, forward calls to a selected group's voicemail box.
  2. Click Save and Apply.

Allow Users to Leave Voicemail Messages by IVR

Prerequisites

Update your IZT Cloud PBX system to detect IVR presence and make it easy to access voicemail.

  1. Log in to the PBX web portal, go to Call Features > IVR, edit the desired IVR.
  2. Custom setup the IVR Keys and IVR Prompts, navigate to the desired selection box.
  3. In the Extension Voicemail Forward section, forward calls by extension to the selected group's voicemail.
  4. Click Save and Apply.

Forward Inbound Calls to Voicemail

If you desire to forward inbound calls to voicemail:

  1. Log in to PBX web portal, go to Call Control > Inbound Route, edit the desired entry.
  2. In the Destination Voicemail field, select the appropriate function box and set criteria.
  3. Select Voicemail Box section, and forward the calls to users' selected group voicemail box.
  4. Click Save and Apply.
