πŸ“ž Allow Callers to Press a Key to Leave Messages

This topic describes how to allow callers to press a key to leave messages.

Background Information

By default, when the caller accesses a user's voicemail, PBX starts to record a message automatically. It may make the voicemails redundant when they are not relevant to urgent needs or incomplete communications. To enhance messaging efficiency, you can improve callers' options to press a key to leave messages promptly.

Procedure

  1. Log in to PBX web portal, go to Call Features > Voicemail > Voicemail Settings.
  2. In the Caller Options section, select the checkbox of Ask callers to press a key to leave a message.
  3. Click Save.

Result

The caller can choose to leave a message after listening to the greeting, and press 9 to leave a message.

If this guidance is used for voicemail, update the greeting to instruct callers to press 9 for leaving a message.
