π Pick up a Call for a Specific Extension
This topic describes how to set up a BLF key on an IP phone to pick up a call for a specific extension.
Background Information
For users who want to monitor calls that arise from a specific extension, you can set up the feature key on an IP phone to pick up a call for that particular extension directly.
Set up a BLF Key
The following steps explain configuring a BLF for easy direct call pickup:
- Log in to PBX web portal, go to Extension and Trunk > Extension, edit the desired extension.
- Click the Function Keys tab.
- Configure the function keys:
- Type: Select BLF.
- Value: Enter the valid extension number (e.g.,
*41001
).
- Click Save and Apply.
- When associated with a phone, use Auto Provision IP Phones to bind it with the extension. When the monitored extension receives an incoming call, the assigned BLF key flashes.
Result
When the BLF key is pressed, it picks up the monitored extension's call, ensuring users can respond promptly.
Monitoring configured thus allows valid key operations accurately reflecting expected handling.
