This topic describes how to set up a BLF key on an IP phone to monitor the call recording status.

Background Information

You can use a BLF key for the following purposes:

  • Monitor whether the call recording status is switched successfully or not.
  • Enable end-users to start or pause call recording on their IP phone through auto provisioning.

Procedure

  1. Log in to PBX web portal, go to Extension and Trunk > Extension, edit the desired extension.
  2. If you want to assign function keys for a specific extension, select the checkboxes of the desired extensions, then click Edit.
  3. Click the Function Keys tab.
  4. Assign the BLF key to monitor the call recording status, then proceed:
  5. In the Type field, select BLF.
  6. In the Value field, enter the valid extension, which will be displayed on the phone screen.
  7. Click Save.

After saving the assigned key settings, provision the IP phone to ensure configuration completion.

The BLF key shows the real-time call status recording of all users.
