Outbound Dial Pattern
This topic describes dial pattern settings for Outbound Routes.
Dial Pattern Components
A dial pattern comprises Pattern, Strip, and Prepend.
Pattern
Pattern field allows you to enter wildcard or specific characters that will match specific numbers. The table below shows descriptions of various pattern characters:
Pattern | Description |
---|---|
X | Matcher any digit from 0-9 |
Z | Matches any digit from 1-9 |
N | Matches any digit from 2-9 |
[123] | Matches digits 1, 2, or 3 |
[1-3] | Match any digit between 1 and 3 |
. | Match one or more digits |
Strip (Optional)
Define how many digits will be stripped from the beginning of a dialed number when the outbound route matches a Pattern.
If you use Patterns 3 and 5 as shown below, the number after applying Strip will be dialed from the system as follows:


Prepend (Optional)
Define which digits will be added at the beginning of a dialed number when the dialed number successfully matches a Pattern. The figure below shows prepends and patterns:

Prefix and Dial Pattern
A prefix code that will be removed from the dialed number before sending to the carrier. Below are scenarios:
