Set up Enhanced Emergency Calling
To ensure users can make emergency calls for help when an accident occurs, you need to set up enhanced emergency calling in IZT Cloud Voice. This topic describes how to set up enhanced emergency calling.
Prerequisites
- Purchase enhanced emergency services from an Internet Technology Service Provider (ITSP).
- ITSPs provide outbound numbers that are associated with your location. Each outbound number is also called Emergency Location Identification Number (ELIN).
Procedure
- Log in to PBX web portal, go to Call Control > Emergency Number, click Add.
- In the Name Field, specify a name to help you identify it.
- In the Emergency Number field, enter the emergency number.
- Leave the Emergency Outbound Caller ID Priority field as the default value.
Note: Emergency Outbound Caller ID Priority setting is only applicable for the current emergency calling. This setting will not affect other emergency calls.
- In the Trunk section > Emergency Outbound Caller ID field, configure trunks for emergency calling.
- Click Save and Apply.
Assign ELINs for individual users
To ensure that individual users can access the ELINs, you may need to consider the following configurations:
- Create an Emergency Number for each country, state, province or municipality in which users are located.
- Provide individual users with outbound numbers.
- Assign the ELIN to the outbound number.
- The PSAP will use the number to automatically dispatch emergency services.
