Conference Voice Menu

The conference voice menu lets anyone on a conference call control the call from their phone keypad, without needing the web interface or an app. You would use it to mute yourself, adjust volume, or (if you run the room) manage who is on the call.

While a conference call is underway, press the * key on your phone to open the voice menu, then press a digit to run a command. These keypresses travel as DTMF (Dual-Tone Multi-Frequency) tones, the standard beeps a phone keypad sends. The menu applies only to the conference room you are in.

The commands are grouped by who can use them:

  • Moderator: the person who hosts the room. Moderators can use every command, including the ones that manage the room and its attendees.
  • Participant: any other attendee. Participants are limited to commands that affect only their own audio.

Keys 2 and 3 act on the room and its attendees, so only moderators can use them. If a participant presses 2 or 3, nothing happens to the conference.
