Set up a Parking Timeout Destination
When a call is parked, it waits on a parking slot until someone retrieves it. Out of the box, Cloud Voice holds a parked call for 60 seconds and, if nobody picks it up, hands it back to whoever parked it. You can change both the hold time and where an unretrieved call is sent when that timer expires.
Configure the timeout and destination
Section titled “Configure the timeout and destination”- Sign in to the management portal and open Call Features > Feature Code > Call Parking.
- In Parking Timeout (s), enter how many seconds a call may stay parked before the timeout applies.
- From the Timeout Destination drop-down, choose where a call should go once it times out. When the timer runs out, the still-parked call is forwarded to whatever you select here:
- Call Parking Initiator: return the call to the person who parked it.
- Extension: send the call to a specific extension.
- Extension Voicemail: drop the call into a specific extension’s voicemail box.
- Group Voicemail: deliver the call to the shared voicemail box of a queue, ring group, or custom group.
- External Number: forward the call to an outside phone number.
- Click Save, then Apply.
