Manage Extension Groups
An extension group is a saved set of extensions that you manage together. After you create a group, you can change its members and settings at any time, or delete groups that are no longer in use. Both tasks start from the same page in the management portal (the PBX, or Private Branch Exchange, web interface).
Edit an extension group
Section titled “Edit an extension group”Use this when you need to rename a group, change which extensions belong to it, or update any of its other settings.
- Sign in to the management portal and open Extension and Trunk > Extension Group.
- Find the group you want to change and click the edit icon
next to it. - Adjust the group’s settings as needed.
- Click Save, then Apply to activate your changes.
Delete extension groups
Section titled “Delete extension groups”Use this when a group is no longer needed. You can remove one group at a time or several at once.
- Sign in to the management portal and open Extension and Trunk > Extension Group.
- To remove a single group:
- Click the delete icon
next to the group. - Confirm by clicking OK in the dialog box that appears.
- Click Apply.
- Click the delete icon
- To remove several groups at once:
- Select the checkbox for each group you want to delete, then click Delete.
- Confirm by clicking OK in the dialog box that appears.
- Click Apply.
After you Apply, the deleted groups drop off the Extension Group list and no longer appear in the Cloud Voice App.
