Disallow Passwordless Login

Passwordless login lets your service provider open the PBX (Private Branch Exchange, the phone system that routes your calls) administration portal without entering a username and password. It is a convenience for remote support, but it is also an access path into your system. If you would rather require full authentication for every session, you can switch it off at any time. This page walks through disabling it.

Note

Disabling passwordless login is a security-hardening step: it closes the credential-free entry point so that every login to the administration portal has to be authenticated. Turn it back on later if you want your provider to have quick remote access again.

Turn off passwordless login

1. Log in to the Cloud Voice Dashboard at https://voice.izt.cloud and click Login to open your phone system’s management portal with full administrator access, then go to Security > Security Settings > Passwordless Login.

   Tip

   With administrator access, you can jump straight to the Passwordless Login page by clicking the passwordless-access icon () in the top-right corner of the administration portal.

   

2. Set the Passwordless Login toggle to off.

   Caution

   After you turn this off, your service provider can no longer open the portal without credentials, so they lose that quick path for remote support and troubleshooting. If you need them to help later, re-enable passwordless login here first or give them proper login credentials.

What changes

Once passwordless login is disabled:

• The passwordless-access icon () no longer appears in the top-right corner of the administration portal.
• Your service provider can no longer reach the PBX through the passwordless login method and must authenticate normally instead.
