Perform an Attended Transfer

An attended transfer lets you talk to the destination party before handing the call over. Use it when you want to confirm the recipient is available or give them context about the caller before connecting the two.

An attended transfer differs from a blind transfer: a blind transfer sends the call to the destination immediately, without you speaking to that person first. Choose an attended transfer whenever a short heads-up to the recipient is worth the extra step.

  1. While on the call, enter the attended-transfer feature code (the default is *3).

The active call is put on hold, and you hear the system announce “transfer” followed by a dial tone.

  2. Dial the number of the person you want to transfer the call to.

  3. Wait for that person to pick up, then speak with them to introduce the caller or confirm they can take the call.

  4. Hang up to finish the transfer.

The original caller and the recipient are now connected to each other.
