Manage Device Firmware Files

Firmware is the built-in software that runs on a desk phone. Storing firmware images in Cloud Voice keeps them ready whenever you update the phones the system provisions (configures automatically). Once a file is in the repository, Cloud Voice offers it as a choice during a firmware update for any matching device model. This page covers adding, editing, and deleting those files.

  1. Sign in to the PBX (Private Branch Exchange, your phone system) web portal and open Auto Provisioning > Resource Repository > Device Firmware, then click Add.

  2. Under Device, choose the firmware vendor and the device model the file applies to.

  3. Under Firmware, provide the file details:

    • Firmware Version: A label for the release so you can recognize it later.
    • Upload Firmware File: Click Browse and pick the firmware image from your computer.
    • Remark: An optional short note describing the file.
  4. Click Save.

The file now appears in the Device Firmware list. From then on, Cloud Voice detects and offers it as an option whenever you update the firmware on a matching phone.
