Auto Cleanup Voicemail Messages

Mailboxes fill up over time, and once they do, callers can no longer leave new messages. To keep space available, Cloud Voice can prune older voicemail automatically. You set two limits per mailbox, a maximum message count and a maximum age in days, and the system discards the oldest messages whenever either limit is exceeded. Follow the steps below to configure automatic cleanup.

  1. Sign in to the Cloud Voice management portal and open System > Storage > Auto Cleanup > Voicemail Auto Cleanup.

  2. In Max Number of Voicemail, set the largest number of messages a single mailbox should hold.

  3. In Voicemail Preservation Days, set how long a message may stay in the mailbox before it is eligible for removal.

  4. Select Save.

Once the limits are in effect, Cloud Voice deletes the oldest voicemail as new messages push a mailbox past either threshold.

If you have turned on the auto cleanup reminder, you also receive an email alert as soon as a mailbox reaches 90% of its configured limit, giving you a chance to review messages before they are removed.
