Export and Import Trunk Outbound Caller IDs

Cloud Voice lets you move a trunk’s outbound caller ID list in and out of the PBX (Private Branch Exchange, your phone system) as a CSV (Comma-Separated Values, a plain-text spreadsheet) file. Exporting gives you a ready-made template you can edit offline, and importing writes those entries back to the trunk in a single step. This is the fastest way to add, update, or remove many caller IDs at once instead of editing them one by one in the web portal.

Save every entry on a trunk to a CSV file so you can review it, keep a backup, or use it as a starting template for edits.

  1. Sign in to the PBX web portal and go to Extension and Trunk > Trunk, then open the trunk you want to work with.
  2. Select the Outbound Caller ID tab.
  3. Under Outbound Caller ID List, click Export.

Cloud Voice downloads a CSV file to your computer. For a breakdown of each column and the values it accepts, see Trunk Outbound Caller ID Parameters.

Before you import, make sure your file meets these requirements:

To import the file:

  1. Sign in to the PBX web portal and go to Extension and Trunk > Trunk, then open the trunk you want to update.
  2. Under Outbound Caller ID List, click Import.
  3. In the window that appears, click Browse and choose your CSV file.
  4. Click Import.

The caller IDs from the file now appear in the trunk’s Outbound Caller ID List. Review the list afterward to confirm the entries match what you intended, since these numbers are what the called party sees on outbound calls.
