Set up an Automatic Backup Schedule

Rather than remembering to run manual backups, you can have Cloud Voice save the configuration data you care about on a recurring schedule. This page walks through enabling scheduled backups, choosing how often they run, and selecting what each backup contains.

  1. Sign in to the PBX (Private Branch Exchange) web portal and go to Maintenance > Backup and Restore, then click Backup Schedule.

  2. In the window that opens, turn on Backup Schedule.

  3. Define how often the backup runs and what it captures.

    a. Choose a Frequency, then set the exact timing:

    • Daily: pick a time from the drop-down. The backup runs at that time every day.
    • Weekly: pick a day of the week and a time. The backup runs at that time once a week.
    • Monthly: pick a day of the month and a time. The backup runs on that day each month.

    b. Under The backup file will include, select the data you want saved:

    • System Configuration: every configuration setting on the system.
    • Custom Prompts: the audio prompts and greetings you have uploaded.
    • CDR (Call Detail Record): the log of call activity on the system.
    • Company Contacts and Phonebooks Settings
    • Chat Data for External Chat
    • Fax Logs
  4. Click Save.

At each scheduled time, Cloud Voice backs up the data you selected. Every automatically generated file appears in the Backup and Restore list alongside your manual backups.
