Leave a Voicemail Without Ringing the Recipient

Sometimes a written message loses the tone you want to convey, but a live call would interrupt someone who is busy or off the clock. Cloud Voice lets you record a voicemail and deliver it directly to a recipient’s mailbox without their phone ringing. The message waits for them to review it whenever they are ready, which is handy when you need to pass along information to a colleague who is in a meeting or has stepped away. It also gives them time to think things over before they respond.

  1. To reach one person, dial the feature code *12 (a feature code is a short star-prefixed dialing code that triggers a PBX function) followed by their extension number. For example, dial *121001 to leave a message for extension 1001.
  2. To reach a queue, a ring group, or a custom group, dial *12 followed by that group’s voicemail number. For example, dial *126100.
  3. Listen to the voice prompt, then record your message.
  4. Hang up when you finish, or press # to end the recording.
