Export and Import SIP Trunks

A SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) trunk is the connection that carries calls between your phone system and the outside telephone network. Cloud Voice lets you download your existing trunks to a CSV (comma-separated values) file and load trunks back into the system from a CSV file. Exporting first gives you a ready-made template you can edit, duplicate, or use as the basis for a bulk import. This page walks through both directions.

Bulk import supports Peer Trunks and Register Trunks only. Other trunk types cannot be added this way.

Exporting produces a single CSV file that lists all of your current trunks. Once you have it, you can add, remove, or adjust entries directly in the file.

  1. Sign in to the Cloud Voice web portal and open Extension and Trunk > Trunk.

  2. Select Export.

The CSV file downloads to your computer. For a breakdown of every column and the values each field accepts, see Trunk Parameters.

  • Confirm that your account can import trunks.

  • Make sure your file meets these requirements:

    • Format: UTF-8 CSV
    • Size: under 50 MB
    • File name: fewer than 127 characters
    • Field values: every value must be valid. See Trunk Parameters for the accepted format of each field.
  1. Sign in to the Cloud Voice web portal and open Extension and Trunk > Trunk.

  2. Select Import.

  3. In the dialog that opens, select Browse and choose your CSV file.
