Manage Extension Visibility Rules

An extension visibility rule controls which extensions (the internal numbers assigned to users or devices) a person can see in their directory and therefore dial. Once you have created these rules, you can adjust them as your organization changes or remove ones you no longer need. This page covers how to edit an existing rule and how to delete rules individually or in bulk.

Edit a rule when you need to change who can see or call a set of extensions, for example after moving staff between teams or opening up a department that was previously hidden.

  1. Sign in to the Cloud Voice management portal and open Extension and Trunk > Client Permission > Extension Visibility.
  2. Find the rule you want to change and click the edit icon Edit next to it.
  3. Make your changes to the rule.
  4. Click Save.
  1. Sign in to the Cloud Voice management portal and open Extension and Trunk > Client Permission > Extension Visibility.
  2. To remove a single rule:
    1. Click the delete icon Delete next to the rule.
    2. Click OK in the confirmation window.
  3. To remove several rules at once:
    1. Select the checkbox for each rule you want to remove, then click Delete.
    2. Click OK in the confirmation window.
