Set the Desktop App to Run at Startup on a Computer

If you rely on the Cloud Voice App throughout your workday, you can have the desktop app open on its own whenever you start your computer, so it is ready and running before you need it. You set this once per computer, in the app’s own settings.

Turn on Auto Startup

1. Open the Cloud Voice App desktop app’s settings. Where you find them depends on your operating system.

   • Windows: In the system tray, right-click the Cloud Voice App icon and choose Settings.

     

   • macOS: In the app menu, click Cloud Voice App and choose Settings.

     

   Note

   The system tray is the row of small icons in the bottom-right corner of the Windows taskbar. If you do not see the Cloud Voice App icon there, click the up-arrow (Show hidden icons) to reveal it. On macOS, the app menu is the bar along the top of the screen while the app is in focus.

2. Under System, select the Auto Startup checkbox.

   

   Tip

   To stop the app from launching at startup later, come back to this same System section and clear the Auto Startup checkbox.

Result

From now on, the Cloud Voice App desktop app launches automatically when your computer boots.

Note

If you have also turned on Auto Login, your account signs in on its own each time the app opens, so you go straight to your extension with no login prompt.

Caution

On a shared or public computer, Auto Startup combined with Auto Login means the app opens and signs into your account for anyone who turns that computer on. Leave both off on machines you do not use exclusively.
