Configure AI Voicemail Transcription
AI (artificial intelligence) voicemail transcription converts the recordings left in your mailbox into text you can skim, search, and act on without listening to the audio. You control how it behaves from the Cloud Voice App on your phone, and any change you make is applied to every device where you use Cloud Voice.
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”Make sure the following are in place:
Phone system
- The Cloud Voice platform is running release
84.19.0.110or later. - Your administrator has turned on AI Voicemail Transcription and granted your extension permission to use it.
Cloud Voice App
Your app is on at least the version listed for your device:
- iOS: 5.16.6 or later
- Android: 5.16.10 or later
Configure your transcription settings
Section titled “Configure your transcription settings”-
On the Calls page, tap your account in the top-left corner.

Open Settings > AI.

Under Voicemail Transcription, adjust the options to suit how you want messages handled.

Setting What it does Voicemail Transcription Controls whether new voicemails are transcribed automatically. It is on by default. Switch it off if you would rather transcribe individual messages by hand only when you want the text. Language Sets the language your voicemails are transcribed into. Languages to Auto-Detect Chooses which languages the system tries to recognize automatically, transcribing each message in whichever selected language it hears. -
Tap Done in the top-right corner.
What happens next
Section titled “What happens next”-
New voicemails are turned into text in the language you chose, either automatically or on demand. A transcribed message carries an AI badge
; tap the transcription icon
to read the text.

To clean up a transcript, tap the edit icon
and adjust the text. This is handy for fixing names, clarifying details, or adding a note for later.
