Manually Switch Presence Status
Your presence tells colleagues whether you are reachable and drives how the system routes your calls. From the Cloud Voice App you can change it at any time, either as a lasting choice or as a temporary status that automatically returns to your previous one after a set period.
Set a lasting presence status
Section titled “Set a lasting presence status”Use this when you want the new status to stay in place until you change it again.
- On the Calls screen, tap your account in the top-left corner.
- Tap Current Presence.
- In the Presence list, choose a status.
Your new status takes effect right away, along with the presence settings tied to it.

Set a temporary presence status
Section titled “Set a temporary presence status”A temporary status is useful when you know exactly how long you’ll be unavailable. For example, if you’re stepping into a scheduled meeting and don’t want to take calls during it, you can switch to a temporary status for the length of the meeting. When the time runs out, your presence and its associated routing return to what they were before, so there’s no need to remember to switch back.
-
On the Calls screen, tap your account in the top-left corner.
-
Go to Current Presence > Set Temporary Presence.
-
On the Temporary Presence page, fill in the following:
a. From the Set Presence To list, pick the status to use temporarily.
b. From the Time list, choose how long it should apply:
- Duration: The status stays active for a length of time you specify. Set that length in the For list.
- Date: The status stays active until a specific date and time. Set that point in the Date field.
c. (Optional) Add a note in the Presence Information field.
d. Tap Save.

Your temporary status and its presence settings take effect immediately.
