Adjust Audio Quality

If calls on the Cloud Voice App sound unclear, you can tune a handful of audio settings to sharpen them. The controls cover echo removal, the audio codec, network optimization, and volume gain.

  1. On the Calls page, tap your account name in the top-left corner.
  2. Go to Settings > Audio Options.

Adjust any of the following to suit your environment.

SettingWhat it does
Echo CancellationTurn this on to strip out the echo you sometimes hear while talking on the phone.
CodecChoose the codec (coder-decoder) used to compress your audio. It uses lossy compression to keep quality high while shrinking the amount of data sent. Options are u-law, a-law, iLBC, G722, G729 (default), and Opus.
ICE (Interactive Connectivity Establishment)Turn this on to reduce network latency and packet loss for a steadier connection.
Audio Gain ControlRaise or lower the level of the audio you receive and the audio you transmit. Useful when the other party sounds too loud or too faint.
